giovanni damico (white rabbit recordings/ragrange records - salerno) is maybe the most productive producer we ve ever come across. and were not just talking quantity, were talking quality! for geography records sixth release weve had so much fantastic material to choose from so we decided to put out two eps by giovanni. the first one is called >cuttin, samplin, housin part one<.ranging from the kind of beautiful house music geography has been known for since the release of julius steinhoffs epic out in the woods ep back in 2011 on the a-side to the more fun loving style of the b-side, reminding us of our two latest top 40 hit-records by real cool and shakarchi & straneus.

the first music to be lifted from her forthcoming sophomore album, zara mcfarlane drops *angie la la* on 2nd december 2013. in many ways an underground cult classic, zaras reworking of this jamaican psych gem by nora dean features former brownswood bubblers alumnus and new yorker leron thomas on trumpet and vocals. consistently one of our favourite producers from the house realm, the truly legendary osunlade aka yoruba soul applies his golden touch to *angie la la*, crafting an exquisitely sensitive and soulful groove founded on booming kicks and handclaps.

there are certain moments and event that can redefine a nation and a culture. the 1987 1988 acid house explosion was such a moment in our time that it did capture a nation and a forged a new era in modern music. acid was such a taboo in the late 80s in the uk that law officials thought that the music insight mass use of acid and everyone would space out, and that was far from the truth. but what is true that some guys from chicago created a sound that the world einbraced and continues to embrace to this day.

system status (david rendal) caught our attention in 2012 with his self released pistachio ep. his production stood out to us instantly and his musicality shows through in his compositions. tusk wax, giles peterson & ashley beadle have all been paying attention to his work over the last few year and this ep was an opportunity for us to introduce another one of his tracks to the dance floor.

people must jam is our sydney based warehouse party that we have been running for five years. the ethos behind the night initially, was to bring djs to australia that we wanted to hear but that had never been, and to put them on in intimate spaces and let them dig deep into their collections to play whatever they wanted. over the years we have brought rahaan, al kent, leo zero, mark seven, trusme, frank booker and more to australia for the first time to play. floor jammers vol. 1 is the first in a series of eps from some of our favourite past and future guests. the record is pressed on 180gm vinyl and strictly limited to 300 copies.

after remixing chupacabras the bigger man for us already in 2006 the oslo label mastermind and our dear friend federico molinari is now releasing his first solo single for our label. federico has been constantly upgrading his studio over the last two years and by this of course also has gained even better production skills. combining modular sounds and lots of effects with his own very well structured and characteristic rhythms can be described described as his new way working. we think that he is doing great and truly hope that you like his stuff as much as we do

so here i am, happily an album older, introducing the first of adamants remix packages. since the whole project was, generally speaking, a personal affair and a lot of the album was not necessarily club-ready (does that even make sense?), we invited our friends on board to do the dirty deeds for me and rework my sounds into something normal people can dance to. first up are mind against.

eye records is a label from ganez (the terrible).together with him, we decided to give the best of these a chance to exist on wax, choosing 4 of our favourite tunes on the eye whole catalog. a wicked melt powerfull techno and minimal tekhouse, dancefloor killerz!

second hot release of our new macadam mambo trax series, introducing the leeds combo joes bakery band with a monster balearic ep!!! beautiful, epic and sexual, blue tuesday could be the ost of 80s classic miami vice tv, feeling the sunset vibe, driving a white lamborgini countach on the sea front! turkish delight is an amazing mixture of italo/rock/arabian dance music, partying in the thousand and one nights… the remix of blue tuesday by mzkbx is a trax-like anthem with a strong acid bassline and tr707 rhythm. be sure that listening to this will increase your body temperature.

now might not be the best point in time to be referencing rolf harris, but.... can you guess what it is yet? it aint gonna be hard for those in the know. the second in our white label series sees a gang of veteran knob twiddlers with over 20 years of experience under their belt. at this stage we might as well just tell you who it is..... but we are still not gonna. strictly limited pressing. when its gone, its..... copies stashed away in the warehouse to flog on discogs for £300 a pop after everywhere else sells out.

two overlooked rare disco masterpieces produced by soul legend lenis guess. when we met lenis in new york this year, the super rare shake lp *music is the only way we can communicate* was lying overlooked and forgotten on a dusty shelf. lenis had the tapes there too, so it wasnt long before we picked two of our favourite tracks for this killer 45. one for the rare disco and boogie heads and never before on 45, these wont be around long.

vinyl only, 180 gramm pressing, yellow vinyl and strong limited. echo inspectors have delivered yet another lush dubby number in the form of >apparition< this figure brokenly weaves through the shadows before finding its stride - this approachable entity wants to return, shall we oblige? it is with great excitements that we receive one of our long time heroes to the primary family. rising from the shadows is the one and the only dean decosta. thought to have left the fellowship, >apparition<, while surprised to hear deans calling, is familiar with his energy. a more aggressive interpretation is adopted for the crossing over. >apparition< attempts to break the line, struggling to take breath with its grittier, darker, distorted frequencies it continues to form as the energy builds. this is a special ltd release of only 200 – one for every bag! early, late or otherwise.

we were surprised when dominik knocked on our door with two tracks from gabriel ananda and himself. we had released *harzer roller*, *kirschplunder & jasmin tee bei gabriel* and *eucalypse now!* ages ago and these releases for us always had a special quality, a kind of energy exchange which took place between them, so we were excited to hear their newest recordings. once heard we instantly knew: these tracks are crowd-pleasers in a big way and come now for the first time on vinyl!

i came across j.cs music through the argentine label greener records on which he released the m-theory ep in early 2013. to this day, this 12inch has not left our record bag! i really like how j.c naturally blends a house feeling and groove with a techno vibe. in 2012, j.c started the ahd label together with his friend damian schwartz, releasing records from the likes of fred p, dj f, marcos cabral and epiphany. he also recently released a split ep with new york producer fred p on soul people music, as well as set the first release of his own label j.c records, which came out last month. i am very pleased to release his new record on deeply rooted.

after the success of our first release, with kessell&substance, granulart recordings is proud to present the second release, adding one of the irish finest dub&detroit techno producers to our small (for now) roster. strong ep with three tracks, a great mix of top dub techno with just the right amount of classic detroit sound.

our favourite swedish house duo is back…more dirty than ever! the follow-up to the previous eps moody & trapped is nothing short of brilliant. waisted with its plucked strings is classic deep house held together by a bumpy groove, soulful vocals & slick keyboard but still maintaining the formula that defines dirtytwo and their finest work to date. talking 2 u is where dirtytwo gets deep down and gritty. chunky house chords, a meaty bassline, cut-up voice samples in full basement effect. flip over for the hard on edit of talking 2 u which goes one step further adding some acid lines and a raw basement feeling. a dub for those who seek a more raw and heavier tool. local talk is talking to you!

we are very proud to welcome back one of our greatest artists and good friend scott monteith aka deadbeat. scott origal comes from canada but now lives in berlin for some years. the track mercy cage comes in two versions. the original track is stumping powerfull techno track, with the typical deadbeat feeling, dubby elements and heavy chords, perfect for the peaktime hour on the dancefloor.

every moment in life has its own and special soundtrack. eclectic and in its usual frieda attitude the >moments like this ep< captures these snap-shots, transforming them perfectly into sound. the three original tracks, composed by ordinary subject, sweeten the party horizon with the right groove. >moments like this< develops an unbelievable drive and with the piano play from sacha ketterlin reaches an incredible deepness. one gets totally into the unrestrained celebration mood with >a jimmy<, which rocks with guitar riffs from 50-51. on the other hand, the >cansons charmed mix< on the >moments like this< invites you to dream. while most dreams take place in black and white, canson in his typical style, draws in the richest of colors, sending our souls into a foreign world. before he smoothly sets us back into our world, he manages to make us glide on a slow trip in which the pictures start to reveal that our aspirations seem almost tangible. last but not least, the >a jimi< is remixed by the label chiefs don ramon and san marco. their >spaghetti house mix< transforms the irrepressible rocker into a bluesy ride into the sunrise.

with code is law 003, label head moerbeck plays with this artistic device with great success >movies for the blind< takes direct aim at our imagination without allowing its intent to shine through to the surface. xvii from leipzigs institut für zukunft begins by laying an unshakable foundation for this short story with his eponymous ambient production. delta x, moerbeck and eomac are telling the rest of this mysterious story with a four-to-the-floor-beat.

we have been proud to watch the rise of oleg poliakov after he first joined our ranks with datcha musik way back in 2007. since first swearing allegiance to the circus, he has continued to unfurl a refined approach to house and techno that carefully balances a respectful mastery of the classic tropes of the genre with his own instinct for seductive melodic content.

this autumn bernard fevre returns with *black moon, white sun*, his 7 th album as the black devil, a mask he has worn since 1978 to conjure up analogue disco dreams from the ether and cast a spell over dancefloors around the world. released on the ancient festival of samhain (october 31st) when the barriers between our world and the next are said to be thinnest, *black moon, white sun* is your own personal gateway to an altered state of mind.

hvnxx is one of the most special projects weve taken part in as a label. some months ago the xx and young turks asked our artists to remix tracks from coexist. it was a big honour and also a big responsi- bility, specially considering that the xx is one of our favourite bands. the outcome of such challenge is a four-track ep that showcases the sound of both well-established members of the hivern family, such as marc pinol and new jackson, and upcoming talents such as round and mistakes are ok. all four remixes are pretty different among them, but they all manage to maintain the distinctive spirit of the original songs in their own way. marc pinol takes fiction to the good ol days of chicago house, laying the original vocals on top of analog drum-machines and a rubbery bassline to that suggest an imaginary collaboration between adonis and oliver sim. the elusive mistakes are ok maintains the tropical vibe of reunion but provides a warped atmosphere combining breezy chimes with static haze and a propulsive bass that boosts the song towards the second part of the remix. hiverns latest signee round transforms the fragility of missing into a soothing house cut through uplifting organ chords and vigorous rhythms fulfilling dancefloor demands without loosing its melancholic character. finally, new jackson proves once again his knack with nocturnal ambiences flipping swept away into a sensuous deep-house gem guided by an absorbing piano and a slow but steady groove. the release comes in an embossed sleeve with artwork designed by arnau pi. hvnxx is a co-release with young turks.

optimo trax is an offshoot label of optimo music for tracks aimed at djs/dancefloors. yes, we know there are too many record labels already, but we felt an overriding desire to start another one as so much music that didnt seem quite right for optimo music (i.e. music that was specifically designed for dancing) kept coming our way. like the parent label, optimo trax will release music by new artists and excavate forgotten classics. luma is a project by dave clark from glasgow. dave had his first release as a member of state of flux in 1993 on t&b vinyl, the label twitch ran with his dj partner of that era, brainstorm. twitch and dave have continued to work together in various ways ever since. he has released records as truffle club, and as big ned on optimo music as well as working with twitch from 2005 - 2010 remixing a plethora of artists under the optimo (espacio) moniker before fatherhood necessitated him focusing on changing nappies rather than programming synths. dave has also recorded under various aliases for r&s, numbers, stuffrecords, dissident and wireblock. the twentieth anniversary of that first release seemed a fitting date for dave to unleash his monster new club music alter ego, luma on optimo trax. twitch thinks dave is the best producer in scotland and endlessly weeps into his gin and tonics about how unprolific dave is, so was ecstatic when the 4 killer tracks were delivered that make up this third optimo trax ep. these have been thoroughly road tested over the last few months at gigs around the world.

direct out of deepest neukolln emerges z o d i a c 4 4. rusty, broken and cantankerous we spill forth our first ever release with dungeon acid at the helm. dungeon jams sees the swedish producer summon madness from the depths of his mind and unleashes it on the world via his computerriddimdrummachiner and the analoguewavecombosignalizer. aboard the pirate ship are fellow viking rivet (skudge/kontra) and nordic saint dj fett burger (sex tags mania/sex tags ufo) with both bringing their own inimitable and unparalleled sonic grooves to the battleground. zaqua is the first of 12 releases. one for each sign of the stars and then z o d i a c 4 4 is forever dead and gone. forever.

detroit master of technosoul eddie fowlkes shows us that he can still surprise us with his original beats. influenced by soul music, in love with dance music, this powerful track is a perfect combination of his inspirations. and it really makes you want to dance and feel the music go into your ears until *something e special* gets stuck in your head for good. bringing you catchy lyrics, vibrant beats and a great kick. who else than the legendary eddie fowlkes can declare war on dance music? well, not me. the only thing to do is to follow the hypnotizing beats and sounds of this track and let our bodies go crazy. and when the backbeats hit us, it transports us to a new level where we definitely join mr fowlkes on his trip to become his allies.

rare strictly groove #01 is the first chap. of a series of 12 inches which include the best unreleased tracks from artists already in the labels roster and very close friends. this v/a open with *waltz to share* by avenir, a quite old track from the very superb catalogue of our favorite producer from palermo. modern and fresh deep house, enriched by the beautiful voice of clara and some precise arrangements of space sounds and more vocals. also we find two tracks by salvatore stallone, one of the artist is influencing more at this time, with his unique and amazing jazzy touch and incredible eclectism. *etes* and *brian off* are both very concrete underground pearls, inspired by masterpieces of the past. but the main theme of this release is dedicated to *the king* by daughters & sons. some expert house rhythms and groove with his name looped in an involving memory.

the sixth volume in our luv n haight edit series featuring 2 hard-hitting tracks from turner brothers is a throwback to the classic edits sound courtesy of sun sound records owner, edit master and renowned record collector paolo scotti. with several recent edits under his belt including classics by touch of class, joe thomas, and ultrafunk as well as a compilation of rare disco and soul from his sun sound records label imprint based in italy, the time was right to tap him as the next producer for our ongoing series of edits from the luv n haight catalog.
